Ungroomed 16in of hardpack snow , grooming starts the 15th.

Togwotee Wy CDT Trail

Rode TML to Line Shack 27 inches of ungroomed hardpack snow , brutal -20 temps kept me close to the fireplace , better be in before the sun goes down or pay the price. grooming starts also on the 15th.

Locals say they are grooming from Flagg Ranch to Old Faithful , WOW that is great news!

Rideable YES worth the 1500 mile drive YES

I havn't ben to Togwotee in a few years, and am thinking of a couple of weeks there in February. Do you have any info on the lodging options there now? I'd like to stay up in higher area if possible.

I'll probably check into the cabins at Togwtee. Expensive but a great spot to base out of.... I was wondering if any of the other places up on the pass were open.

Crooked creek has a new owner I believe. We stayed there last year. The line shack has rooms too. I don't know if The Sawmill is open again. We have stayed up there for 13 years. Its a good place to leave from.
Where in Chautauqua county do you live?

Have stayed at Crooked Creek before , that area is good to stay at , you have 2 shops there that can fix just about anything and if you KO your sled you can rent from the Shack RMKs or Crooked is a Doo rental dealer.

You also do not have to drive that far , the Bighorns east of Buffalo Wy on Hwy 16 has plenty of snow or Lead SD the trails will open in SD on the 15th.

I am going back to SD next week.

Ratpack, I'm in Bemus Point. Originally Mayville. We go out wih a couple fom North East, Pa and sometimes a crew from Michigan. If you go out with the guys from Jamestown, Sherman, etc we have probably talked at some point. I used to have a businss in Falconer.

We always stayed at MacKenze High Land Ranch, but since Dave, owner, passed away we are thinking of Lava Mountain Resort. We love the Continental Devide Trail system that get you to all kinds of riding and sights.

Dave didn't run the groomer, but it started there every day except Thursdays. Daves son Hector has taken over operations. The people that ran the ranch, Tom and Ruth have left for another job.

Nothing yet I am waiting for the next dump , they should have started to pan the trails today around Lead , as soon as I hear anything , Il post.
