noticed on my last ride my left side hand grip wasn't heating. I think when I adjusted my handle bars I may have pull my wire out of the hot grip? seems like outer sheath is out further than the other side? Can I repair? or do I have to just replace?
Thanks BB :o|

I lost one this year after going over the bars. I twisted the handguard down which cut off the wires to the element. You may be able to solder the connection back together but, it's unlikely it will hold imo.. Get the kit and CHECK IT for a L and R element before you start tearing off the grip and your center console . The first kit had 2 left heaters and of course I needed a right side. Back to the dealer again !
p.s. They covered mine under warranty but I installed it :)

It can be repaired. You will need to remove the grip which can be a pain. I use a plastic tool to work the grip free from the bar. The end of the hook seems to be where all the adhevsive is. Heat the grip with hot water ( if you remove the bars from the machine) or a heat gun (if you don't) and twist back and forth until the grip comes off. You will see where the grips are soldered to the wires. Re-solder the connection and then test the connecton with an ohmmeter by using the harness under the headlight pod. Use an epoxy adhesive to keep the connection safe. Let that setup overnight and then re-install the grip.
