I have not had goof luck with Yuasa YTX-14H batteries on my 07 GT. The last 2 have only lasted 1 year each ( 1 was a warranty replacement) . I store the batteries in my basement in the summer and periodically charge them over the summer. I changed the battery yesterday to full but it would not start the sled, Only turning over at 200 rpm. I took it inside and fully charged it but it would only go to 12.7 volts. This morning is dropped to 12.45.

What about a LiFePO battery? I use them on my kayak to power a trolling motor so I am familiar with them and have the proper charger. What are the disadvanges of using one on the sled?

LifePo4 batteries are not good starter batteries. They are best used as deep cycle batteries the way you use them in your kayak.
Where are you buying the Yuasa batteries? Are you using a charger designed for AGM batteries?

I buy my Yuasa batteries from Royal Distrubuting and yes I use proper AGM chargers. The original battery lasted 7 years and then the next one 4.

My brother & I both run EarthX lithium batteries in our sleds. We’re in Minnesota so it gets cold and we’ve never had an issue with them starting. And the weight savings is unbelievable.

The earthx are lithium ion, the op was asking about lithium iron (lifepo4). The earthx batteries seem to hold up.

The Noco is supposed to be good but the Shorai LFX24 or Earthx ETZ14C are what most people run. @max rolph put a noco in his sled, maybe msg him and ask him how its going.

I dont know whats in my 06 apex as its been 10 years and I think it was a napa battery!! Still cranks over like crazy. Whatever it was, its a good one. Replaced both OEM (labeled Diamler Chrysler) batterys 3 years ago in my 03 cummins dually, and they still held a charge!!! Unreal. Lasted almost 20 years. Seems like a crapshoot with batterys these days.
