I"m a new owner of an a Attak and I"m hearing a lot of talk of a limiter strap. What exactly is this and what does it do? I 've looked in the manual and can't find anything on it. Also are there any good manuals out there that go into more detail of the 06 Attak? The owners manual is not too in depth on information. Thankyou

i believe the limiter strap helps keep the front end down, it is the leather strap in the front of your suspension, you can go on yamaha's website and ordrer a service manual there around $60.00, i have an 06' attak, the sled is awesome, once you get it dialed into your riding style you'll love it too, there is about of post's on set-up's and the people on this site are great on helping everyone, good luck with you machine and welcome aboard

Correct the limiter strap is in the front of the suspension. tightening the strap will allow more pressure allowing the ski's to dig in more and sled will turn better.tradeoff will be more steering effort

The limiter strap is normally one of last suspension tuning adjustements. Adjusting it will have a profound effect on ski pressure and as well as weight transfer. First try spring and transfer rod adjustements.

But as it's name implies the limiter strap "limits" the distance the front arm of the rear suspension will extend. Without the strap the next component that would limit the arm would be the shock and the shock would not last too long as hard hits especially tail landings would pull the shock apart.
