A few years ago, a member of this forum, BlueByYou, wrote an article in the technical pages section comparing the operation of a locked versus floating secondary clutch. Floating is the stock setup for the RX-1 secodary clutch. BlueByYou's article makes a lot of sense, his discussion makes me believe the secondary should be locked for best overall performance. If the clutch alignment is setup correctly, there should be no need for the secondary clutch to float. Has anyone set their seconadry to operate in the locked mode? If so, what were your results? Thanks

Plenty have. I doubt that you're going to find many reports of dramatic performance improvements. What you'll find is more consistency and longer belt life.

Terrific, thanks LB. I owuld not have expected a drastic performance increase from that change. i am looking for exactly what you said, more consistency in the operation of the clutch. I am going to set mine up as described by BlueByYou.
