I have an 06 attack with the regular gas shocks they are toast and need a rebuild. I haven't ridden it with good shocks so I don't know what to expect when they are fresh. It would be cheap enough to get them redone. If I don't like them I can easily sell them. I've been looking at GYTR and floats. I just don't know if I really need to spend the cash on the later 2.
I ride pretty hard and put my 05 zr 900 to its limits. very satisfied with the setup on this sled.
Will the attak handle the hard stuff like the 900?

The sled is too fat to be a serious bump sled. It's a much better fit as a serious cruiser.
If the front shocks are rebuildable, you can get them valved to work really well in that capacity - given the patience to get them done right. Sometimes that'll take a 2-3 tries by the builder. If you're serious, the GTYR or Fox will need to be revalved as well.

ZR 900 were really not that light nor a big bump sled. I would check ebay for a used set of Fox floats and add a 13mm sway bar.

I would not add the 13mm sway bar. It made my sled a real bear in the corners. Inside ski lift like crazy. Went back to stock swaybar and it is a night and day difference.
I am not sure why everyone raves about the 13mm bar so much on here. I previously had the 12mm bar on my Apex which I thought was pretty good. When I got my Attak I decided to go with the 13mm bar. Big mistake.
I run GYTR shocks on my 06 Attak with SLP Powder Pro skis, Bergstromm 8" Triple Point carbides, shims and ski savers and I am pretty satisfied with the performance of the front. I was not happy with the mono skid though and just replaced it with the ZX2.

To each his own KevinS. Maybe thats why there is choices in life. I rave about the 13mm with floats because I liked the set up. You will either have lean or lift in the corners with the apex or any sleds weight that is higher in the chassis ~ pick your poison

I'm really liking the Attak just going to need to set it up better for myself.
I'm planning on having pioneer do the shocks. plus I'm getting just about everything they sell for the attak.
Clutch kit
Mono skid bushing kit
A-Arm bushing kit
13mm sway bar
mono shock spring
Front shocks re-valved
Mono shock re-build
mono Skid Beef-up kit
Powder Pros
Idler wheels
