Hi All,
That colder air is perking me up for winter so I decided to install my Mountain Mod seat today. I used instructions on this site to remove the seat cleanly. No problem there. I'm one step away from attaching the seat in place but this is where my problem lies. I had to remove the wiring and harness for the tail lights that ran underneith the plastic of the factory OEM seat and this wasn't easy. Had to do lots of prodding and pulling but it all slid out okay. The Mountain Mod seat does not have an opening for the the tail light wiring up through the seat as the OEM seat does. My question is: Should I drill two holes through the plastic of the Mountain Mod seat (similar to OEM) to run the wires up through OR can I run the wires straight across without going through the seat. I'm worried that the exhaust system might melt through the wires. Almost done, would love to finish it tomorrow. Looks like there's going to be a BIG difference in riding height and forward positioning! Can't wait for snow!!! Thanks
