Looking for opinions on my newly painted hood

I pm'd you back snicks.

I did use a newer black hood, not a good painter, with the 08 stock graphics. The vents are XXX mod rod vents and all the custom powder coating was done by halfbaked powder coating including the tunnel. Had the shock reservoirs wrapped by a local sticker guy, I think it was $20 for both.

Had the same problem with my allens, I used a lot of heat and they broke free after a while.

Just drill the allen head bolts. Use a good drill bit, the head will pop right off. Then get some stainless steel bolts instead of Allen heads. Use high temp grease on them.

Anti seize melts off...and stinks. Or at least the stuff I used did lol

Well a little heat and some elbow grease got em off. Now to throw it all back together and try out the Super Q pipe. Not sure how loud this thing is gonna be. (it was given to me) oh yeah ... where the H$LL did all the snow go in WI??

Well I just finished it late last night. Got the new Super Q pipe on, and she's LOUD now! New decals went on great, windshield looks nice, and the new black hood is starting to grow on me. I posted some pics before and after. A Arms and spindles will be coming off this summer and going to half baked.

I have the same sled and did the same thing with the black hood. I was also going to put the same stickers back on until I saw the price of them and decided to go without.
I have gotten a few compliments from buddys saying they like it better then the white hood.

Yeah I cannot believe what they charge for the decals. I have a guy that does custom decals, but I wanted the exact color, and same style so I broke the bank and ordered em from Yamaha. $200 wow... :o|

I like it!

I've been interested in swapping the white panels for all black, but it is pricey.

I had a 99 Vmax, all black and I removed the ugly orange, pink and yellow graphics. Had many compliments on the trail.

One week long trip up in Canada we kept meeting up with another group, they could easy tell it was us due to my black sled. Good times.
