Does any one know off hand if you can buy the silky powder prefilter material in bulk from somewhere less than for 36.00 US for 1.5 sqare feet plus shipping I'd like to find some fabric I can use in its place and shape it to my liking.

I think that fabric is polypropylene fabric, probably rated for what size micron it can catch. Google PP/filter/fabric... maybe micron, too... you should be able to track down all kinds of stuff.

Buy some ORGANZA at the local sewing shop. It works fine..

Aww crap!!! I went and spent big money buying SLP cloth filter media when I knew there must be something, thanks so much for the reply!!!
will ORGANZA keep water and snow dust out as is or would you have to treat it with a repelant of some sort
looks like ORGANZA comes in silk and satin and several mm sizes (weave ?) what do you think would be the best for pre-filter application?

I'm not an organza expert but I bought the silk and it worked fine as a prefilter on my rev for 2 years . It also works on my MCX Air Filter.
