The setup will be used mainly in Ontario on trails and interconnecting lakes. An Rx-1 or a Rage have enough power trails but when they can barely break 160 kph on snow covered lakes I'm wanting more power hence the turbo.

I'm Set on basing it on an '06 Nytro with a 136 kit as I like the long track for ride and hookup I like knarly trails hence the Nytro Seat, Handlebars and Floats

I'll probably get Jeff at CPR to build it for me.

My starting list would be

Nytro '06 Non-ER 533 lbs.

Hartmann 136 Kit with Fully Clipped Ripsaw +10 lbs

Extrovert Drivers

CPR Turbo +17lbs

AfterMarket Exhaust -10 lbs

Additonal Rear Heat Exchanger +5 lbs

Clutching and gearing by CPR(set up with Primary Focus on Accel and Backshift)

What about a Roller, do you like/have you used the Hyperlite/Paragons or is a roller cover a good enough answer?

45" Custom Aluminum Front end with Alum Spindles Big Torsion Bar from CB Performance -10 lbs

USI SPX Ski's with 9" Shaper Bars

144 1.325 Woody's Megabites in the middle with Double and single backers(I won't do a lot of racing from a dead stop, I want the power mainly for my own enjoyment so Stud durability and handling are most important).

Full Gauge Package(what do you need for trail mode? IS EGT useful as well?)

Red Chrome Windshield off '06 Vector SE Mountain

Total Weight should be 545 lbs. Dry

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks

If youn want to run that kind of boost I'd get an apex or a 05 RX-1. I'd get an 05 RX-1. The Kits are out there and proven. same being said about pistons and Rods. You should be able to run about 15 pounds on pump with LC pistons with a front mount. I know MC is running 17.5 in the rear mounts with LC's.

I was referring to the added weight of the Turbo at +17 lbs. Will only boost which is safe for pump gas i.e. 8-9 lbs and 185-195Hp, sorry for the confusion.

We've got a Vector with a Bender turbo in it and it runs flawless, and the 22 lbs less weight to start is good point since it's right off the front end,the Bender kit was easy to install and it ran great from the start.

I don't find my rear mount too noisy ? Then again it has a muffler too. Rocks with 12-13lbs on pump gas. underhood temps are also real cool, warm going in to the intercooler cool coming out, the precooler helps I'm sure. I also haven't had any temp light problems.

front mount powderlites turbo kit

Vector kit works very well and we have head gasket shim so you can run 12 lbs boost on pump fuel
Working on lightweight exhaust thats quiet and dosn't hurt big power.

Dave, I heard your Vector kit is working wicked!! Buddy Nick at Vernon motorsports says your kit runs like its fuel injected,no hickups popping or flameouts what so ever! This is coming from a guy who has installed about 20 kits+ and has ridden most of them..... Kudo's to you  Any ideas on fuel injection for next years apex?....Contemplating what to do next year, our backyard riding is pretty tight to get into the alpine, might go vector se for the weight and maybe try front mount this time.

front mount powderlites turbo kit

Thanks ken
It's been long time coming to makeup for some of the R&D we have done.
Getting lots of calls about these Vector kits cause they just go like it was made from factory.
Never have to touch throttle to start and always run so strong that RX1 guys are getting beat.
Very responsive motor to turbo.
Watch out ken in a drag race!! Your rear mount will be in the rear!!! hehe
Working on lightweight exhaust for our turbo kits that is quiet and saves lots of weight.
Apex will be snappy with fuel injection once setup right.
