HI Guys

My riding buddy has a 2007 Phazer short track. As of late it is loosing power after 11400 rpm, seems to sputter there doing about 90km/h and won't push trough unless you put it to the bar. once she breaks beyond that rpm it will hit 12400 rpm and sputter with speed only hitting 105km/h. Any suggestions on what could be happening here?

We were thinking of chasing down a fuel filter perhaps or maybe something in the clutch however the clutch was fine and serviced in the fall.

Any help would be appreciated, Cheers

PS; I told him to just buy a nytro like mine but he's suborn, LOL.

Sounds like he's bouncing off of the rev limiter.... thinking he has a clutching issue.

Check belt, take that secondary clutch apart and clean it thoroughly. Use Scotchbrite pads to clean the sheaves, polish helix with aluminum polish. Take air compressor and blow dust out of primary.

if there is any grease on clutch or jackshaft clean it out.

he is revving WAY too high. Ensure secondary is set at proper twist. A-1 is stock I believe.

ensure belt height is correct after putting it back together

Clutch serviced already? Seems odd as this 90% sure sounds like clutch to me.

Best thing to clean clutches- hot water, Dawn dish soap & a pad then air dry/ wipe down.
Nice 'lil bubble bath.
