I was thinking of getting a set of the Yamaha marginal snow wheel kits for my Apex.
As many of you had RX1's or Vectors, if you used them, any feedback on their effectiveness?
Here's the link on them:

I needed the kit on my 03 RX-1. The angle isnt as harsh on the Apex. I asked but have not heard too much about the hyfax wear. From the looks alone, with less weight than a RX-1, I hope I wont need them.(more rotating mass) They did work well on my 03. I had the alloy set.
Next week my APEX ER is in

I bought them at Johnson's near Madison Wis. The alloy's were more expensive. That was what they had when I purchased them

Save your money. They simply freeze up and cause drag :ORC

Marginal snow wheels-freeze up?
My concern is with hard-pack snow conditions, & minimum loose snow for hyfax lube to keep from having the hyfax stick-that is a real drag.
Had a Polaris XC that benefitted from having the extra wheels for this reason.
Would the ice scratchers be a better solution? Open for suggestions

I put a set on my 05' and they really helped when traveling on the snowfree street-shoulders. My buddy was riding in front and I could smell the HDPE burning. My hyfax were hardly worn after 1300 miles and in many cases we rode in snirt (UP 34 degree days). Also, I would actually roll back or forward on a hill, something I never experienced prior to their installation. If they limit me to a single tear down my skid at the end of the season (bushing , grease and hyfax) then they will have paid for themselves. Side note: Use locktite red, I threw one last year and I could Sh_t for it from my buddies and they only come in pairs.
