Mirror Kit

I just ordered the Kimpex mirror set for my '05 RX1. I have been using a bar end mirror and it works just ok, but I wanted to put bar hooks on. The set I ordered comes with a bracket that goes to both sides. Looks like I will have to remove the windshield and dash to mount these. Is there any special trick to this? I also wondered if I could just mount one on the left side without using the bar, since it's mainly the left mirror that gets used. I'm afraid if I do that it won't be supported well enough and will vibrate. I may be pressed for time getting the mirrors installed before next trip as I want to try to get the bar hooks on also. Thanks for any help!

From the looks of the kit, it would be better if both where mounted as it could damage the cowl. Should not take too long to do anyways.
