My wife and I are leaving tomorrow after work for a weekend trip to MN. Just the two of us.
We've ridden from Two Harbors to Grand Marais a few years ago but other than that, never ridden Northern MN. From web traffic, I'm thinking Brainerd, Bemidji, Grand Rapids, or Ely.
Looking for recommendations including current conditions, and lodging recommendations as well.
THANKS!
Bob (and my lovely wife Chris) ;-)

Here's one for you. Go to Fortune Bay Casino, Tower Mn. It's on Lake Vermillion. You have Food, Beverages etc. Trails run right to it. Cruise to Ely then to Isabella, Finland on the Tomahawk Trail. Or Run the Lake Trails toward Cook or Toward Kabetogama. Depends how far you want to ride lots of Choices.
The Trails should be in Great shape. I'm 50 miles from there and we're in Good shape and they got a foot more than us without the Rain..

Thanks for the tip - I'll look into that asap!
We're not so much lake riders. Looking for wooded trails. We also like to "trail stop" at a bar/restaurant/coffee shop/whatever every 60-90 minutes rather than all wilderness riding.
Thanks again!

That would have been my choice. Food and Lodging in all the (Range) Communities But that would have been best in that area.. I ride from Home so I guess I'm a little Spoiled. I'm sure with the Rain and Ice all the good spots will be Booked..

We went Thurs night and stayed at Country Inn in Hoyt Lakes. Rode Friday/Saturday.
Never been in that area before. Trails were awesome. Rode mostly West, North West, and North (up to Tower) and back. Very few sleds, snow tipped trees, and extremely smooth trails.
Only downside....it was cold! (15 below most mornings).
Trip was a 10
