Just ordered one today. Anyone here have one? How did it work out? Any "tricks" I should know as a first time user? Were your carbs off by alot or a little? Thanks guys...

For those of you who are not familiar with this ... it is a vacuum guage that attaches to your carbs and allows you to sync them. Last year they were actually mercury guages but the new Carbtune has stainless steel rods instead of mecury. They are $80 US or $125 Cdn.

Yeah I have had one for 3 years now and use it on my sled and outboard. Use the line restrictors that are included and the readings are more stable. Make sure you follow the Yamaha direcions for synching the carbs.

I have one and love it. Only "trick" is to make sure that you put the little restrictors in that stabalize the gauge readings.

I have never done this before.

One question...I have found the vaccum conectors....those rubber nipple things...I have found (I think  ) the adjustment screws between the carbs but I could only find 3?? The PTO side Carb does not have an adjustement right...or am I missing something here? Pictures would be a BIG help....Spray??

There are only three screws.

Gramps (convert) could probably post the page from the service manual if you don't have it. It gives full instructions.

Let me know if you can't get a hold of the service manual.

Thanks, I have the service manual but I just have some questions.

-Which Carb is #1 and which carb is #4 :?: I am assuming that Carb#1 is on the MAG side and #4 is the PTO side.
-How come there are only 3 adj. screws...does one screw do 2 carbs simultaneously :?:
-The manual shows it being done without the airbox... but I am assuming this can't be correct?

Thanks guys.. :?
