Hey guys, for those of you that wear moto X style helmets I have a quest.
I have on order the Shoei Yamaha helmet that mathes the rx-1. I chose that over the bombardier bv2s. Anyhow, I have the goggles and the helmet picked out, but I now need a nose peice and a nice fitting face mask (balaclava) to have a nice seal with the goggles. The nose peice I would like to have stay In the helmet, I guess velcro in. Shoei is sending me a catalog on what they have. Yamaha doesn't seem to have a nose peice. SO what is your guys steup and where did you get the wind deflector/face mask if applicable?

Thanks. :yam:

I have the Yamaha face mask and it does a nice job, does not velcro into helmet, just around your head.

Try the nose piece that HJC sells. I bet it would fit pretty well and it only costs about 10$ USF

Wow, that helmet costs like $450 US and it doesn't come with one? I just bought a HJC CL-X4 for $155 and it came with one. It might have something in the box mwhen you get it.

Scott makes one pair of snow goggles that has one attached to the bottom of the goggles. Also, I have tried several brands of goggles over the last 4 or 5 years wearing this kind of helmet, and I recomend the Scott's over others costing 2x as much. Even over Oakley.

What ever you do buy "quick straps" fro your goggles. They allow you to put them on and take them off with the velcro patch on them. They are a must for motostyle helmets.

Frosty

Buy a "NO-FOG".

They make one for motox style helmets.....get the headband as well.

It is thick neoprene and velcro attaches around the back of your head.

Wear a thin belaclava undeneath and that is all you need.

They have them here..... www.royaldistributing.com

After a lot of trial and error the best setup I came up with was Smith goggles with an attached nose piece from Pro-Vue, one thin silk balaclava and the Hoodlum Balaclava from the Shadetree catalog. I have found that wearing two thinner layers underneath the helmet actually is more comfortable because of less dirrect friction on your head and added warmth. A nice feature about the hoodlum from Shadetree is it is long so it keeps your neck warm.
