I got C&A outlaws for my apex this season and I got the double wishbone mounting kit. The rubber bumpers did not fit correctly so I cut them so they wouldnt be as wide to make them fit. I still got them pretty tight fitting in the spindle. And after reading some of the recent posts about the skis and mounts etc. I am worried that they may not perform as well as they should. So basically I am wondering if anybody else has had this problem, and what are the correct mounts for the apex. Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

you have the wrong mount if yours was 1 1/2" tall.the apex's will be 2" tall and a different shape also then the phazer/nytro rubber's.

heres a pic for you.any questions let me know.

I put outlaws on my apex in february of 2006 with 7.5" shaper bars.
The mounting kit I got was the only one at that time and I double
checked this with the Canadian distributor as it was to wide.
I hade to cut it in width with a chop saw and hone out the bottom
of the rubber block a little where the shaper bar hit on.
The skis work great especially if you are an agressive rider.

c,a add a issue with the rubbers being molded to wide.they were 2 1/2" and should be 2" wide on older models, apex's.

Yep, dealing with the wrong rubbers from C&A right now. Exactly what Richie posted, too short and too wide. The ski just flops up and down without compressing the rubber.

I would get those exchanged. As said above, you may and probably will lose performance. Luckly for me, ( AND Rich. lol ) I got the right mounting kit for my XT's. )

doug.its not c,a 's fault unless you bought the mount from them.you just got wrong style mount from who you bought them from.you need the regular yamaha mount kit.but all you really need is just the rubbers.if you cant get it worked out i have them here.

Richie,

Thanks for the offer. I bought the skis from KJ Motorsports during his "free shipping" offer here on TY, and Kyle has been right on top of it for me. C&A is sending me the correct rubbers.
It appears to me that the way C&A lists the mounting kits a little confusing, as a "wishbone" suspension has been around since the RX1. They need to be more specific in their application listing.
