Hello

Im interested in the mpi turbo kit. But have some questions?

What i want yo know is what everyone using this kit thinks about them.
Also, how hard is it of an install?
Am i going to be happy with the performance gains?
Also it says in the description it is a truely bolt on kit?
Does this mean i can go from 1700'-10000' without messing with anything but clutches?
If no how big of a job is it for me to run the sled at 1700' then change things so i can ride at 10000'?

What sort of monitoring equipment should i be using?

And finally how safe is this kit?
I dont wanna wrench alot on my sled anymore. Thats why i ride a yammy 4stroke. So im just trying to figure out what im getting into. I have no problem wrenching on the sled to intall the kit its the after math i am worried about.

I did the snowcheck deal last winter (2012 sled) with the MPI turbo. Overall I am happy with the kit.

The fit and finish is very good on the kit, but there are a couple of things that you may want/need to do.

I would go with a boost gauge (I did a KOSO) so you know that you are getting what you paid for psi wise. If you are changing elevations that drastically you should probably add a boost controller too and maybe an Air-fuel gauge too (Koso sells a combo boost AFR unit that looks pretty slick).
I also added a "snorkel" rear intake to mine, I have two stacked Rotopax containers at the rear of the tunnel and I had some issues with snow clogging the intake. I bought a radiator hose from Napa that had a 90 degree angle in it and a couple of hose clamps to fix that. If you do not have anything mounted on the rear of your tunnel you should be fine.
There have been some issues with the electric oil pumps (see thread on Snow & Mud forum) so make sure that MPI sends you a pump that has the update.

I only ride high altitudes - so I can't comment on how much work or what you need to do going from high to low elevation. You may want to contact Darren at E&S (do a search and I am sure you can find his contact info) - I think he would be able to answer all of your questions.

My 2 cents..... if you can afford it, buy an MCXpress kit. In my opinion, hands down the best engineered set up out there. THE 180 hp kit from them would be an easy install. My 270 hp kit involved a head shim, so I let the dealer do the work. GREAT DEALER for MCXpress in Butte, MT.

I have riden all 3 hp ranges of the kits (180, 240, 270). I just decided to go big or go home....... NOT A DISSAPPOINTMENT! I can go anywhere I ever wanted to go, and some I wish I hadn't!

I installed this kit myself and it was my first turbo install. The directions are very well done and you should have no problems. I have had ZERO problems with my kit since day one. The fuel mapping from MPI has a couple holes in it that I had to learn to deal with until I installed the "Bridge Controller" from PsycoSled. My sled now runs perfect all the time. I have had several boost kits and this is a great kit. I wouldn't hesitate at all. All of my riding is high elevation.

I did a ton of research before I bought my 180 it and I want with mcx. Hands down the most reliable gas and go kit. With a shockwave helix you can make the minor adjustments for those large elevation changes. The mpi kit appears to be ok but i have heard of problems and that it doesn't make the hp of other kits.
