I bought a set for the Attak and didn't install them because they covered up the grip and didn't care that they didn't go full circle on the RA dial.

The stock running board grips do stick through the tunnel supports a bit. The don't provide the same aggressive grip as stock. But after 5 seasons, I have yet to slip and fall on my but.

My $.02 is the plusses of these far outweigh the cons. But yes, it makes it a tad more slick. I position my feet a tad out to hit the traction on the sides of the boards. It's not like your losing much being that Apex boards don't have much traction anyways.
