Guys - I am new to this forum and am anxious to finally hit the trails tomorrow. This is my first Yammy (except for the awesome SnoSports) and I thought you might like to see my sled as I am attempting to make it into a one-up cruiser.

So far, I have changed the paint, installed an Ice Ripper track, Skidoo Pilot skis (will be changing those yellow loops), flipped the throttle to a finger pull, installed a digital thermometer (should already be in the cluster IMHO), and installed electric gloves (pending some warmer grips...).

I am also retrofitting a Doo backrest/luggage rack which I hope to install in the next couple weeks. You may notice the modification to the seat at the tunnel level.

Anyway, thanks for this forum and I look forward to posting more photos as the season progresses.

OK welcome to the site, now how in hell did you get the pilots on,i was told by both dealers yesterday that sski-doo will not retrofit this ski to any other sleds other than there older revs 05 and back, they told me and a friend that the saddless ski bottom comes with a none removable bushing so trying to fit yammis ski bolt thru wont fit,and you wont fit the ski-doo bushing and ski bolt onto any other spindle, now did you change your spindle to a ski-doo type, whats up here,ski-doo B.S. from the sounds of it,i knew you couldent trust family lol both are ski-doo shops he he and i ride yammis lol... :die

Doo skis

The skis I am using came off one of my son's Rev racers, but I am pretty sure that they are the same. I just popped out the bushings (11mm 1/4 in drive socket) and tapped them in from the outside. Perfect fit! Even used the Yammy bolt!

BTW - any guy with a new Doo race sled will have a pair of those skis laying around. I didn't see anyone running them at the races this past week.

But if anyone is interested, I have an extra set of Doo Precision skis.

Precision skis

The skis are black. I don't think they require a mount kit. I will check them when I get home tomorrow and let you know.

BTW - the Pilot skis worked great yesterday on my first ride. No darting at all and steering effort very reasonable.

Now, about that bottoming....

I weigh 165 and the sled bottomed out on almost every G bump on the trail. It was fine on little "jumps", but it clearly needs more preload or better compression damping or a stiffer spring or a different angle.

I am planning to change the mount angle for the MS per the manual and adjust the spring from there. But has anyone considered changing the compression damping of the shock?

Pioneer performance has the 6.5mm spring or bigboy spring stock is 5.0mm and they will revalve your shock for you free of charge if you send your shock out to them and buy there spring, they #*$&@.the spring for you,all for $100.00 sounds preety good to me.. ;)!

Hi... welcome to the site. Glad to hear your pilot skis are working out for you. I have a set of the wide 6.9 pilots ordered for my Attak. The dealer somehow got a set last winter to try out and said they were awesome. Another guy put them on his apex gt but said he only had to push one of the bushings. You sure you needed to pop them both out ? Enjoy your cool sled.
