Hey guys, I watch this (MPG's) probably more than others. We do alot riding in areas where fuel is sometimes a problem to find. Here is what I am running and here are my results.

2003 RX1 with 1.25 Camo9833 and 96 Roetin's (center only)
Bone Stock Clutching

Carbs
Fuel Screws all set at 2 turns out. (I had the Carbs cleaned, sync'd and set up by an awesome R1 Engine builder)
135 Mains (Stock)
Needles Lowered (leaned) 1/2 clip(Yes, you can lean these needles by 1/2 increments)
Holtzman Green Carb Springs

Last trip I did 520 high speed / deep fluffy snow miles (on GPS) and avereaged 17.2 MPG. Plugs are a PERFECT golden brown.

Performance....I can easily take my buddy's 2002 & 2003 MXZ-800's from start to finish. Top End on GPS is about 105 MPH on hardpack trail but I have not yet had a safe area to test further which I know I could get more.

My fuel mileage/performance

I only have a little over 1000 miles on shorty 03 but my mileage last year was 18 mpg with everything stock. No carb springs, stock clutching. Was very pleased and my poo rider friends were pissed every time we filled up. Then- I tried the Dalton set up and engine stayed on 10,5OO at 40 mph or 80 mph. and mileage went to 14. That setup did not stay on long. It was good for short duration dragging, but no need to string out the motor at 10,500 while trail riding. I tried the filter kit, but was not able to get it to run the way I liked so that's off. I now have on the cpr stage 2 which allows you to shift on the trail but also has a much more aggressive upshift when you punch it. Haven't got enough miles yet to check mileage. Did you get any bogging with the green springs and stock airbox? Thing is with this sled it runs so damn smooth stock its almost crazy to tune all season for a few sled lengths anda drop in mileage but like most sledders, keep changing things till it breaks! Glad to hear you're happy with your set-up.

No bogging at all. I did notice a little before I had my carbs sync'd but after I had the machine set-up it ran ALOT more crisp.

Not seeing anything near that :?

I think my snowblower gets better mileage

mileage

i am running dalton s and my maleage is running about 19.5 and not that high of rpm may be 9000 at 80 mph down from there at lower speeds and up at higher speeds. longe shot what did you run for a secondary set up? and you change 1/2 needles by moveing the washers not the white spacer. 8)

Hey Black John...19.5 ? Wow that's pretty good. US or Imperial?

I am running 17.5 US gallons. Works out to 20.6 Imperial.

17.5 Mpg :?: Powder or hardpack or both?

How much do you people weigh? and how fast are you driving??? :?

Either that or I've totally forgotten how to figure mileage :? It's still Miles traveled divided by gallons used...right? Are you resetting your trip meters? Do I have a "Soki hang-over Monday sled?"

The best I'm seeing is 12.5, no...wait, 12.57 :? :? :?

I weigh 210 without gear. We ride on average betwen 65-80 MPH. I have a spreadsheet that I have done in Excel. I keep all my gas receipts for the course of the trip and add up the amount of fuel I use for the distance that I travel.

Keep in mind that Imperial gallons are not the same as US Gallons.

But ....I get 17.5 MPG in US gallons.

Sorry Wildbill...I have no idea  that's why I had the mechanic do it for me. I watched him do it and asked questions but I am butt stupid when it comes to carbs....I don't like em and I don't like F&^%$N with them!

But he did say it's a little trick that alot of people don't know about. I would ask a bike shop...they would know.

I 've checked my Warrior a few times , my best : 14 . However , my average speed is around 40 with many blast through open fields . In other words , I'm not trying too hard.

I don't keep track of actual mileage, I just watch how many I get per tank...but I noticed that the fuel gets burned VERY quickly at higher speeds (obviously). The one time I rode with my girlfriend, I averaged 40-50 and easily did 70 miles with 5 bars left showing (had 5/8 of a tank left). When I ride at higher trail speeds I'm lucky to get 70 miles at the 1/2 tank mark.
