I'm curious, today, a snap the trottle for a quick high speed run, and the rpm did'nt go further than 9500.
honestly, with two inch lug, and no slip, god, the acceleration is terrific.
It's written in the sky, get a good grip on the handlebar, if not you will pay for that  .
why the rpm dont go to 10200 rpm, where the peak hp is supposed to be
?
thanks

RPM's
How many miles on it? Mine never ran over 9500 until I had over 400 miles on it! Is there such a limiter in the CDI box? Hmmm? I haven't heard that one before...It's new and tight and until it gets enough miles to loosen it up/break it in..You won't see the high revs.

Clutch it
Oh yeah one more thing. If you wanna see 10,200 rpms you might want to clutch it. I'm running Heavy Hitters in my 03 RX-1 and it runs 10,200's right out of the gate straight through mid range to top end.

There is no break in rpm limiter in the CDI.
Tundra we need more info. It may be clutching. What are you clutch settings, elevation etc?
Are your airbox and carb boots on SECURELY with no leaks?

stock clutching, 544 feet over sea.
It's a brand new sled, only 70 miles,
but, right now i seem to have a other problem.
a couple min ago, i start it to take a run, but he backfire alot, and cut at 3200 rpm, tututututu, bang, :?
i take a run on Mont Valin yesterday 60 miles, with zero prob, and this afternoon also, maybe 10 miles.
But right here rigth now(jesus jones
), he wont rev... :?

My RPM's were low right away also, but as the sled got more miles it did increase. I still have stock clutching in my sled and see about 9500 RPM while climbing 10,000-10,200 on the trails getting there. Was your engine cold when it sputtered or warm? What was the ambiant air temp? Is this after waiting for the temp light to stop flashing if the engine was cold?
If the engine was warm allready and you just started it you could be experiencing what we all had last year (vapor lock). Put a coolant shut off in the line going to the carbs to eliminate this. I bought a brass 1/4" (I think) ball valve, two nipples and hose clamps for about $6 from Ace Hardware.
If the engine was cold and you tried to take off before the light was out it wont rev past 3500 RPM if I recall correctly. Also check for ice in the throttle lever, this will cause your TORS to kick in. Hope this helps you, Jim.

he do it warm,
it's -3°celsius
and some humidity
i disconnect the t.o.r.s, samething, wont rev pass 3200, it's really like a cutoff.
i will try to give you the most detail i can.
yesterday, i take it for a run, i start a 560 feet, it's frozen rain, and with the elevation raise, we get some snow, finally i went at 850 feet maybe, and it'S snowing a lot. i came back, with some frozen rain at the end.
i stop it on my truck, and go back home. This morning, i went for a run at my house, maybe 10 inches of snow on the ground, i ran, unfortunatly over some water(mud), go back on snow, and run it maybe 10 minutes on fresh powder down a hill to clean the skid, and go park it, outside(he sleep outside).
tonight, i want to take a small run, and he do what you know.
the accel was easy, he idle fine, and look fine
. I try to disconnect tors and restart it, but, he cutoff a 3200.
It's not funny, because at 3200 rpm, he wont move, and his park out of reach of a truck.

Hmmmm, I'm at a loss here :? . I don't know what else to try except maybe checking the carbs to make sure there isn't any thing plugging the jets. This was another problem last year, even on a brand new sled with low miles.
That is your TORS system. Look at your throttle lever. See how it has a two way hinge? If ice gets in that slotted area on the pivot point the TORS kicks in and will NOT allow you to rev up to engagement. I had the same problem last year and couldn't figure it out. Finally did figure it out, cleaned out the ice and poof it was fixed.
Oh I forgot to mention that I think if you simply unplur the TORS it will act as if it is tripped.

i will check that tomorrow
But, something make me feel strange about that.
he backfire , because, if i press the throtle quickly, he move somewhere near 5500-6000 and pof, flame in the exhaust, and lower to 3200

sounds like the tors acting up on you  to bypass the tors you have to disconnect it and the connect both leads together try this and se if that solves your problem

It sounds like a simple set up or break in problem. And not even really a problem, but be patient with it, wait until 400-500 miles until it's fully broken in and if still won't rev up to 10,200 take it back to your dealer and tell him to check your clutch weights. Sounds like to heavy weights. I'd have them put a set of heavy hitters in while their there. You will notice a conciderable power differance once it breaks in. Good luck......
