Anyone running Mystik JT-4 Synthetic oil in their Phazers? I did a search and found nothing on the site. Canadian Tire has it on sale for $7.99/litre.
According to the Mystik website it is for use in Yamaha snowmobiles. I currenty use Yamalube Semi Synthetic 0w30 but at $13/litre I would to save some money.

I wouldn't stray away from the Yamaha OEM oil.
reason being there are specific additives that are good for the engine and additives that are bad for the engine.
especially being its a phaser which is a high rpm high comp. engine.
mystik jt-4 uses a sulphated ash additive that is designed to reduce carbon emissions, however it is known to build
deposits on piston rings as well as wear off the nikasil cylinder coating and cause pitting in brass and other soft metals.
i've worked in the oil change industry for a couple years and have done my research and inconvenient as it may be you get what you pay for.
also stay away from penzoil which has perriffin wax additives that coat the inside of the engine, normally not a bad thing but if you switch to an oil with any kind of strong cleaning additives it can peel the coating and clog your oil pump. I recommend amsoil, mobil1, motul(unsure if they have a 4 stroke oil),RP is also good if you manage to find the right stuff ive heard they switched the additive packages in recent years.
