Ok so I got a bender clutchkit for my nytro. How do the weights work tho? cuz it came off a nytro and was suppose to be set right up but im only hitting 8300 rpms i got this clutch kit
http://www.benderracing.com/PhotoGaller ... ode=CKNY08
now where the flange is is the heel right and ur not suppose to touch these from what there set at right cuz I have about 3 washers and a lock washer. At the other end the tip I just have a allen bolt no washers nothing.
In the middle i had a allen bolt as well as a big lock washer so I removed the lock washer thinking removing weight i will gain rpms? but all i did was lose them down to 8200 rpms.
I have a 30degree twist on the clutch at 0 and 3.
What do I do to gain rpms?
Cuz were having radar races tomoro and I want to get it setup
Any help is appreciated

I think you should call Bender. Imo, hitting only 8300 rpms is way off in their setup.

the heel or shoulder is the part that extends from the body of the clutch...this is the engagement to low speed range position....the mid hole is the midrange or 1/4 to 3/4 range hole...and the tip is top end...
first off your twist is too low...start out at 6-1 and judge there...
repost after and I'll bring you home from there...
state your model...other mods etc..

they use a/c secondary springs in their kit. Secondary setting is correct.

what would it do if i were to change the helix to a 40 degree instead of a 30 degree?
Its so hard to get the rpms with it being digital its delayed.
Right now im engaging at around 4200 during a my midrange i hit 8600 then it drops back down to 8500 at wot on top end.
Thanks and any help is appreciated.

Try reading up on it...there is much to learn.
This link might help...free info. If it doesn't help, then I'd suggest reading Olav Aaen's book on clutching.

is this after adjusting weight
sj how close is benders kit from drag n flys? Sounds to me like take it out of the tip and leave the weight in the middle.

really different...40-10's....dalton helix and arctic sec spring.
if its after adjusting the weight then yes...remove the tip weight and add a bit to the middle..
40 deg twist will hold the shift longer....but I cant attest to the cats spring...might be spot on might be too much...
Im just gambling here but does your sled have less than 500 miles....if so thats why your not hitting your target...and when your sled hits miles you will over rev and be back at their setup..

This is after I adjusted the weight origanally the only thing i did was take a lock washer out of the middle hole. What does the middle hole do compared to the tip anyways?
And I am at 1000 miles on the sled exactly.
I am going to call bender tomoro and ask them about the secondary and the degree of twist.
