I am looking to buy a used Viper, I want the ltx 137 track. I know Yamaha made a change in suspension design on 2020+ models. I would like to know if the difference in handling is significant over the old version? Also, the 17-18 LTX-LE models had premium QS3R fox shocks with Kashima coat, and the 2020+ better shock package is the LTX-GT with the base QS3 fox shocks, I would like to know how they compare for general trail riding at moderate speed? I would like to have the smoothest ride possible.

We have a '17 Sidewinder LTX LE (shocks w/Kashima coat) and a '15 Viper LTX SE (basic fox floats). I have to say after riding the Viper last weekend, I didn't notice a major difference in ride. I actually thought it did a great job on the not so smooth sections. Granted most of the trails were in good shape. I can't say the better shock package is a noticeable difference. The Viper is the wife's sled and if we had to do it over again, I think she would actually prefer a shorter sled like a 129 vs the LTX. Rider preference I guess, and the person's build/size makes a difference.
