Okey here we go. Had a test ride on an mcx apex this winter. The power was shall we say unf #$%&* ngbelivable. No, let put it this way, thought i got off the kitty cat when i was eight but, I DIDNT. Now beeing a powder/backcontry rider i always thought the mighty apex a little heavy. I know that massive hp makes it dance like a butterfly but i just didnt have the guts to go for it. 2008, and along came the nytro. Lighter and puts out 240 boosted. the 153 mav seems a little short for 240, im thinking go bigger. My way over modded mm 2001 has a 159 and a fabcraft type skid in it. By now you know where this is going. Mesh hood, floats in the front, floatskid, new extros and that, 2006 ,one season old 159-15-2.
Know that the mav has bigger lugs but the 159 is stiffer and can handle 240 better and give more flotation. Thats my reasoning anyway. Does this sound really wacko or am i on the right way? After all, track and skid will come at almost no cost. Thankfull for input from you who saw the light before I did. :rocks:

Ran my boosted rx1M with a 153" track last winter and I could feel sometimes it was lacking traction big time.

This winter I still use the 153 track but with a new ZX2 rear suspension and will see if I can get the power to ground.

I was just thinking the same thing! I love the added flotation of the 16" tracks. will a 16 fit? Seems like this would have been a good opption for yam to add. With Turbo I would like 162x16" in the mountains.

Mine is a 153x15 attac20 track (rx1)

and apex will be 174x15 extreme

I don't like how the 16 run tight into the tunnel.
