I wanted to drop my needles 1/2 a position like on my old sleds. I thought I'd take one of the thin white plastic washers out from under the clip and put it on top with the other one for a position of 3.5. But NO!
The needle adjustment on the RX-1 is a little different. There is a thick white "doughnut" that sits below the clip in the #3 position. There are two thin steel washers instead of the plastic ones I'm used to seeing. I assume they have the same duties as the little plastic ones. One is below the doughnut and one is above the clip.
So, I just took the lower steel washer off and installed it on the top with the other one. This should lower the needle the thickness of the thin steel washer.
Seeing the dramatic taper of the needle I am hoping this doesn't lean me out TOO much in the midrange. Has anyone else tried this? Powder Blue
Most of your other sleds probably ran rich from the factory. Do you really want to make your RX-1 run leaner ? Most everyone feels that the 4 stroke runs lean from the factory and should be fatend up. Are you riding at high elevation ?
