First Yami owner. Sold my 2009 BRP 600 ETEC after i tried my brothers nytro.
Sold the wife's 500ss as we had no time for trailering both sleds and was a hassle more than anything else.
Bought a Phazer MTX cheap just to play around. Put a new battery in her and received a code. Not used to code/ 4 strokes and stuff so off course in route to dealer. Inside i spoke to the seller who sold the nytro to my brother and showed me a new trade that had just came in. 09 Nytro XTX with barely no mileage...................Interesting.............One client in the store was looking for a MTX Phazer for his son and none for sale in the showroom. Well buddy its your lucky day. I want the Nytro and you want the Phazer. 5 min. later......leaving with the Nytro. Nooowwww a happy camper.
Nytro XTX with 1700km on her. It had studded track, MBRP, short and tall windshield and tarp. Very glad with the sled but wasn't "My sled", was like everybody else, ssssooooo.......
Here ya go. First day, removed the MBRP, that thing was wayyy too loud. factory track studded, that could stay for now, mileage at 1700 km was very good in my book. apparently warmers were shits$#^#$^ So I ordered and install Yamaheater, thumb booster and starter saver.
Then again, payday arrives. more goodies. bought a set of 6.9 pilots with white handle, added a set of bergstroms skeggs 8" triple point carbide, had them before and love them. 4 inch Doo's carbide on the outside. all install with modified Yamy rubbers.
Then had a chat with Chris at Schmidt and advised me to throw away the MBRP and modded the factory one which i sent him. Received my gutted pipe with Stage 2 clutch kit, block off plate, cold air intake modules. Thank you Chris!
Next day added a white skid plate underneath. Not a Roest but strong enough for what i do.
Those set up were all helped and suggested by reading multiples post. Help a lot and made the buying fun.
Brother has a 10' nytro XTX and said that with the clutch kit and the Pilot 6.9 on mine, it was a whole different machine. Most likely will get the same upgrades as he's now a believer in tweaking the nytro a bit.
Just tweaked the suspension as SJ suggested. Can't wait to try it this way.
Now hearing a snow storm outside which is supposed to bring 30-40 cm of fresh powder. Giggy Dii!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, pics were added. just found out I could put the stance wider with the bushings. Now her stance is wide. Can't wait to go ridin', so far no darting what so ever. little stiff on the steering but just did the SJ's suggestions and haven't tried it yet with the mods, and moved the ski's last night. should be an interesting one.
Next plan... not much. I absolutely love the way she rides. And pulls like a freight train. Txs Chris at Schmidt Motosports. Muffler tone is deeper, I don't know if cold air modules made a difference but dyno charts proves it does. Clutch kit is a must and should be added on the Nytro, not as an expense but as part of how the sled should be.

Might do so revalving work to the shocks this summer for next season.

Nice work and one suggestion - a nice aftermarket bumper (like the Skinz - hint hint) will improve the frontend look a lot.

Bahahaha naaaa didn't win the lottery. Just like making my toys different and prevent possible problem. Not a huge fan on the aftermarket front bumper, seems to be the first mod a lot of people do. They are nice don't get me wrong but i can see other improvement beside the front bumper that would benefit the sled. Ulmer 6 wheels kit for a start.

Hey kojack,
those PIAA's look sweet! was it an easy install? you have a part # for them? Me and the wife have each an xtx, both 2010 models.
Looking to start on the list of upgrades.
Thx

soooo easy a caveman can do it. lol. just remove the front hood cowl and reach behind the light, move the clip that retains the bulb and pull it out, put the PIAA in and lock the bulb back in place with the retaining arm. Voillaaaaa!!!!!!!! Done. I got mine of ebay. wayyyy cheaper than here. They are PIAA Intense White H4. They are so much brighter than the factory yellowish one coming stock. you'll love them.
