I read that Excell is building a lite weight alternative to there current exhaust, exits under the tunnel. Also Outlaw motorsports is making there version of the ram air for 150.00, Some company in Canada is making a lite version of the A-arms loosing around 16 lbs, TJ sports in upgrading there exhaust with new version. So I thought I'd see what you guys knew about in the up coming summer, things being make , proto typed etc. Ulmer is taking over a few of the things Maxx Perf. sold, filter re-location and some other things. So throw out what cha got...................

idk but i sure would like to spice up my vector a little bit. I dont know what the best way isnt i know The 120 is not near ceceptable to mods and the rx-1 of apex is. Clutching is an option but i dont wanna lose top end. WE will have ot see i guess.

I would suggest the Fundy power sports motor kit , this will give you 150 h.p. or go with the Excell header and pipe and the ulmer plugs, a Ram air kit and clutching for around 10 h.p. more and the clutching to get it to the ground better. as far as the company i was PM'd about it through our various conversations from Summitking I believe. Said a friend of his was working on them this summer and they would be nice . I can't wait to see what else is coming this fall........ that's why i posted this thread.... see if anyone would share with everyone what they knew was in thw works this summer from various venders. There is a thread about lite front end kits and I believe a guy on snow west/wild child makes some that are 12 lbs lighter, titanium or something. Try searching for the thread.number1kyster said:idk but i sure would like to spice up my vector a little bit. So you think the vector needs to be geared down, why?? The nytro is geared down and it gets beat by stock vectors, from 660 up to top end,and if you are talking about the apex being geared down,go ahead,if its all stock you will get beat on any lake,as i have the 23 top in mine and its going back to 24 that it needs, yes its quicker thru the trails but not alot and it will get run down on a long lake, and get ya worse gas milage to boot.pro116 said:number1 gear down and put the aulmer stage 3 in and you will gain top speed.I've done alot of testing on the vector

mmsnowbeast I have done lot's of testing.Thge vector's are way over geared.I would only gear down one tooth. The vector down 1 tooth is still capable of 112mph radar 124 on speedo which the vector still wont reach that unless your on glare ice for a mile. You can gear down two gears and you may shift all the way out which that is 20-38 and the vector will top out at 107 mpfhon radar.

OK so you were talking about the vector, that changes things some,we have the 05 vector with the proactive skid and 96 studs on glare ice about 1 mile run 106 gps and i was very happy it could do this, and we had another rental the 06 with the ice ripper track that would do 108 gps these two were clutched stock.pro116 said:mmsnowbeast I have done lot's of testing.Thge vector's are way over geared.I would only gear down one tooth. The vector down 1 tooth is still capable of 112mph radar 124 on speedo which the vector still wont reach that unless your on glare ice for a mile. You can gear down two gears and you may shift all the way out which that is 20-38 and the vector will top out at 107 mpfhon radar.

there is 2 places to get the light weight a-arms depending on what you want to spend.wildchild on snowest makes nice cromo ones come powdercoated whatever color you want 500$ can.or you can get the super trick ones from cr racing for between 1200-1500$ but they are very light 2.2 pounds a side.cromo ones take off 5-6 pounds.mpi light weight spindles takes of around 2.5-3 pounds.between the steering post & bars you can lose 4-5 pounds with cromo bars cr racing or fab craft-mountain machines riser. the stock riser with 4 huge bolts weights almost 4 pounds.seat mountain mod seat weights 8 pounds stock one is 15-19 pounds.if you realy want to save some more light hood & get rid of stock lights for piaas saves another 6-8 pounds, hoods from alpine motor sport.holz skid 20lbs,float skid 25-30lbs fabcraft or holz.rear drop brackets 4-5 pounds.i have done alot of these mods to my vector it weights 538lbs with oil & coolant.still have stock skid & a few other parts.that i will change out this summer trying for close to 500lbs dry.with my alpine turbo at 16 pounds boost 280hp only the real big rx or apex turbos will beat it.if you want your vector to go fast just put a alpine turbo on it.it will cost alot less than upgrading to a apex.for those that have some realy big bucks the apex in the pic is built by cr racing full custom 300+ hp turbo + nitrous weighs in at 521lbs full of oil, coolant & 1 gallon of gas cost a mere 61000$.the other sled is my vector

Who makes the cheapest front spindles for the Apex mnt. and the rear drop down brackets ? Does anyone know ? Most every where I go on line says for RX-1 and not near as much for the Apex's.

The a-arm's,shock's,spindles are all different between the apex and rx1.The apex and the vector have the same front ends.

Do you know of anyone who makes a light weight upper rear idler bracket and the front spindles ? Or any other valuable, cost effective parts to loose weight made for the Apex. I haven't found many for the Apex, everyone still advertises for the rx-1 . I wish we had an idea of the cost on the new Excell lite exhaust.... that sounds like a winner. (as long as they don't want and arm and a leg for it) I emailed them and they said they would be done dynoing it in a few weeks....... gonna be a long summer !
