New sled for wife

My wife is currently riding a 03 Viper ER. She wants to get a better suspension and a four stroke. She kinda likes the rider forward position. So she was thinking an APEX GT. Might be to big, maybe the vector instead. She is 5' 1" and in good shape. My question is the steering on an RX1 much different then the viper. I know the sled is heavier but is it hard to steer. Will the steering in the RX1 be about the same as the Apex. Thanks in advance.
 
A vector would be perfect the steering on mine dosen't seem heavy at all and the sled feels very light off trail in the powder.
 
ST98 get the apex. Its not to big or heavy. All a bunch of hype on weight . My wife ie getting apex gt. Its what she wants. She is now riding a RX1er 05 and has no problems. O by the way 105 lbs 4" 11' and is 62 years old and not a lot of muscle.
 
impalapower. Its hard to believe that I,m 5'4" and she can get that short leg high enough to kick my but but she does. Last time I saw her up set was yesterday when I wouldnt let her take my place on the test ridefor Yamaha . She thought . I should stay home and let her go FAT CHANCE. Of course I,m writeing this from a motel . Guess I should have let her have her way. ;)!
 
You also might want to look at a Nytro. Its got the engine, clutching and suspension from the Vector, but its rider foreward like the Apex.
Also, its geared a little bit lower so she wont be able to beat your RX-1!
I think that the steering on the RX-1 and Vector is very light. I currently own an '01 Polaris Indy 600 XC EDGE X and I think the RX/Vector steer lighter than my XC does! In fact, the Vector even feels lighter than my XC.
When I demo rode the RX/Vector, I saw people there of all ages and body types. I talk to one elderly couple and the gentleman commented how easy the steering was (and believe me, he was about as frail as they come).
I think the reason why they steer so light is because all the weight is behind the skis. Look at a Doo, Poo or a Cat and you will notice that the engine is mounted directly over the skis. The 2-strokes dont weigh as much as the 4-strokes do, so they have to mount the engine over the skis or else the sleds wont turn as well. Thats one instance where a heavier sled is a plus. You can mount the engine behind the skis so the sled steers light, but its still heavy enough that the sled still turns very well.

Nitro is cold and sus.is hard as a rock. Not a great trail Cruzer. The GT vector can be ridden all day and still be fun . Its a HOOT.

Kevin, its time to trade already? Going for a blonde this time? I told my wife when she hits 40, I would trade her for 2 twenty year olds. 8)

If she likes rider forward the APEX. Does not have to be the GT as the ER would do fine. The Apex is NOT bigger than a vector and it only weights 6 lbs more and it now has the RS front end geometry. The upright column and the handlebar hooks will give better leverage which is most helpful to smaller lighter riders.

Be careful about that NYTRO. It is a VERY stiffly sprung ditchbanger. It is not a comfort oriented trail sled like the vector, Apex or RX 1.
