They just introduced them for this Nov as they must have been listening.

slides

new slides would be great if they lasted does anyone know what there saying about how long they will last.

Now they'll need to work with Alro to make a better track clip. I went through track clips on my Nytro like it was it's job.

Skis

I think the dual runner will help with the heavy steering on the Nytro's, but I wish they offered a 7" and 8" version.

Instead of just making a little larger wheel they spend a bunch of money to develop a new slide with Dupont, I just dot get it!

Agreed, I can't get my head around it..

Maybe with the X wheels I just bought and those new slides I will never have to replace another set again.

yeah, I'm thinking the same way and made that point in the General section and someone came back with the argument that the larger wheels cause extra pressure on the rails - but part of the problem there seems to be the wheel mounts would have to be changed as well.

BTW, I'm surprised that no one is talking about Yamaha now offereing Front End Oilite® Bushing Kits for the Phazers and Nytros as well. It took awhile but at least now they are available at local shops.[/quote]

Holy cow, if they are that tough won't they wear out other stuff like the clips and especially the tracks if not fully clipped!

I think these are a great idea and I'm not seeing the track clip thing as being an issue. We'll see i guess, but come on, some guys are pre-judging a product before anybody has even tried it. Only time and "out in the field" performance will prove or disprove whether these slides work as advertised.

I saw these slides and their demo live and in person and I walked away convinced these are the real deal. I also spoke at length with the Yamaha MN Rep for about 10 minutes about these slides also. While larger wheel and offset kits like Pioneer's kit also work, they also negatively put added stress on the rails, which can also crack and fail, so pick your poison.

Are we forgetting the big advancement in snowmobiling in 1968: The Slide Rail Suspension. After that manufacturers went away from wheels to the rail/ hyfax model. The MN Yamaha rep even said he believes with these new sliders people will use less wheels in their skid or maybe even remove them. Those were his words, not mine.

If these actually work. I know a lot of guys that would buy them. And I also know a couple guys who aren't riding yamaha anymore cause they hated changing slides so much lol
