My local Cat dealer tells me he has the 2016 parts books in and it shows a 3000 series that is a Phazer engine in a Procross chassis. He implied the Viper would also be in a narrowed Procross chassis. Rumors or facts? We should find out soon!

A new Phazer based in a narrowed Procross chassis might get me to sell my Viper and buy one and turbo. For us mountain guys having around 30 more hp (turbo Phazer engine) and something like 50 pounds lighter would be AWESOME!

But yes I have not actually seen the books going by what this dealer has said, but his info has been accurate to this point.

What we were talking about on facebook lol. Time will tell.

As long as it's a price point sled and they didn't let cat do any programming/tuning on it, I'll def take a look! If I hear that it's a cat ecu on a yammi engine again it'll be the farthest thing from my mind.

Yes because the last new Phazer release in 2007 was such a hit with the ecu (SARCASM OFF) :D

You do remember the 2007 Phazer had serious cold start issues and new ECU were installed in them?

So 9 years later yamaha has all the ecu stuff completely figured out with that engine, same way with the nytro, unfortunately they let cat take a bulletproof setup of the 1049 and screw with the ecu..let's just hope if it is the phazer engine they stick with all the fine tuning that yamaha has already did rather than try something new and unproven.
