- 2000 Yamaha SRX 500
Hey everyone, just picked up a srx 500 to play around on, I noticed on the ignition switch it has 3 settings Heater/ON/OFF, it won’t start on heater and I’m just curious of what that even does if anything at all? Thanks!

I believe you are looking for the TY's sister site for two strokes as this one is geared towards 4-strokes.

To clarify, you have an SX500r? There was no SRX 500. Only the 600 and 700 back in the day. I had the SXR though.
The key'd ignition had off/on and start, which was if there was an electric starter installed. Next to it was a manual choke. The other side of the handlebar was a rotating knob for the grip heaters.
Take a look at my for sale video from years ago to tell me if yours is like this. If not, tell us what it is, and possibly a photo. As it sounds like your machine is not factory stock.
