Guys:
FOr anyone who is contemplating a trip out east....consider Western Newfoundland, Gaspe, Quebec or Northern New Brunswick...and bring your mountian sleds. Easily 1 - 2 meters of snow has fallen in the last 5 days.
Ill be honest, it absolutely sucked here since early January when our snow got melted twice and froze into a sheet of ice....but last weekend it started with this:
Then Tuesday's system came in. Gaspe and Northern NB picked up and additional 60+ cm's and it looked like this yesterday:
It hasn't let up and there is still a heavy snowfall warning in effect:
Warnings
Bathurst and Chaleur Region
10:45 AM AST Thursday 21 February 2013
Winter storm warning for
Bathurst and Chaleur Region continued
Further amounts of up to 10 centimetres of snow is forecast by late this afternoon.
This is a warning that dangerous winter weather conditions are occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.
A low pressure system over Cape Breton will move slowly eastward today.
Snow at times heavy will continue over northeastern regions of the province today. Further snowfall amounts of up to 10 centimetres are expected over those regions. Strong winds combined with the snow will give poor visibility in blowing snow to these regions and especially over the Acadian Peninsula where the winds will be the strongest.
As I write this, it is still dumping like crazy.......but the extended 7 day forecase is bluebird and -1C High - -8C Low.
Hopefully some of you can make it our way.
