Quick question, on something that has been beat to death. Since I have not had a chance to ride my 08 yet. While working on my sled I thought I would hit the grips to see how they get. They got real real hot. I couldn't seam to find a low that worked well. This will be bad if the hands start to sweat, and I start to get cold on a long trip. Does the lack of heat problem that most guys have go away as you have been riding, or is it just not there? I am not bragging, complaining yet, or trying to sart another dumb post. Just wondering if it is heat that goes away, or just doesn't show up at all? My hands sweat alot as it is from nerves or
. Either way sounds like my hands will get cold. Thanks guys

The first time I rode mine was in a buddies' field. My hand warmers got so hot I had to shut them off. That was probably 5 minutes into my 15 minutes of fun. Since then, blasting down the trails, through twisties, and ripping down long wide open straights, it seems like I have hand "coolers"! I was convinced that MAYBE I got a good set, but that was the only time they were truly effective. Later in the winter my buddy set up a track in his field and we rode for hours. My hand warmers felt like they never came on. I guess it was that initial ride they teased me to think I was going to have warm hands.

Both Skyboz and I already have gauntlets...but the are fugly!! Believe it or not, my hands still get cold with them on.
There are times (Few and far between) that the grips work...there is absolutely no consistency with them.
As they say, your air conditioner never breaks in the winter and your heat works great all summer long.

Yep, they are NEVER consistent ! One day they work so so, the next day not at all, and even on the good days, it's NOT consistent....

too fuuny, mine mostly dont work very well, if at all. I ride with gauntlets 80% of the time or more. The weird part, every now and again i'll be on a trail and the dam things willl burn my freaking hands of for a few minutes. I can never seem to replicate it or figure what or why they suddenly work........if i could then at least figure out the speed or RPM then I would at least have a warmer mode...!! or speed or ??

Yea,I was riding up a hill last year and almost hit a tree because they were getting soo hot I had to turn them down but if I stopped i would of got stuck and Yamaha is the only system that you need to look at to adjust! other times they are luke warm at best.
I don't own a Nytro but think it might be my next sled. Did I read someplace that you can only run the hand or thumb warmer but can't have both of them on at the same time?

I have no heard that,But the way the set up is on this sled I wouldn't doubt it.adx2 said:I don't own a Nytro but think it might be my next sled. Did I read someplace that you can only run the hand or thumb warmer but can't have both of them on at the same time?

my observations on my nytro xtx is that riding in the 20 degrees F. temp, the warmers work very well, with handles full bars, and thumb on 1 or 2 bars, but 0 degrees to -20 degrees F. both warmers do not work very well, the first time when riding mine, the thumb warmer was way too hot on full bars, and handle warmers not very warm, ever since i keep my thumb warmers on 1 or 2 bars, i gave up on the warmers, need to make me seal skin gaunlets lol

Hmmm, I''\ll try that....I did notice the heat in the thumb warmer but nothing in the hands
note to yamaha, wtf, is it really that hard to just go back to power coming right off the main power to a resistor dial then to the grips like you had forever, that worked, all the time, so well it burned your hands. sometimes i wonder what goes through those guys minds. 1 year is a mistake, 2 years is just stupid.
