Has anyone done any testing with this? Have heard of power increase by putting nytro cams in sidewinder and compared specs of the two and talked to an engine guy and he seems to think it would. Anyone have any input and results??

All the wealth of knowledge in here and nobody has tried this?? or does nobody want to say lol

Hurricane has tried various cams on the dyno. Don't quote me but think there was 5 to 10 hp depending on the cams and timing.

Probably something only serious racers would try. There are so many other ways to easily and cheaply add power to these.

If you have the cams and know what youre doing, give it a try. The Nytro and viper cams are more aggressive than the sidewinder/vector cams. Wont be much of a difference, especially with the stock turbo.

Tune gives more power for the money so no need to mess with cams unless racing.

Slapping more aggressive cams into a boosted application could actually do more harm than good. The combo all needs to work together, and shifting the powerband to an unusable level vs where the charger is in its efficiency range to make the best power given the stock cams is defeating the purpose.

It's a whole different ballgame vs a N/A engine where a bigger cam(s) is #1 on the list to make more power.

Cams add power per lb of boost. The part that’s tricky is the cam timing. If the cam timing isn’t right for the tune, the afr will not be as it was designed to be in the flash
