Avid drivers are better then whal bros....

I figured as much due to the significant price increase. Thanks.

I'm running 9 tooth avid drivers and you do not have to trim your rails or end caps, plenty of room on the rtx.

ski-doo drivers will work but from what I've read, and I saw a post about it too...the yamaha shaft is just a shade too small so you have to wrap it with some sort of plastic or something, to get the drivers to stay on it firmly. Sounds like a pain in the butt. I'd just run avids unless you find some ski-doo ones for almost nothing.

Well you could say I got doos for nothing, I'm parting out my Rev and I have 2 sets of doo drivers one of which is a set of 9T extros. But I agree that does sound like a pain in the arse. I guess I'll look into some Avids. Thanks guys.

Another question....anyone run an antistab kit? I was reading it somewhere it was recommended with no slip drivers. My rev never needed them but the bottoms of my limiter straps are getting destroyed so it might help with that as well.

I haven't had a problem and I'm not running a anti stab kit. I was running my track pretty loose for a while, in deep snow, no problems. But yeah, maybe it would help with the whole limiter strap problem.

Here is a thread about doo extrovert drivers, according to this thread they just press right on, no problems at all. And page three even has the measurements for you. Its a good read...

I installed anti-stab kit on the advise of Dave Wahl when I installed his drivers. Don't think its necesarry. Probably was a waste of money. Wouldn't bother if I did it again.

Perfect man thanks. I'm going to have a better look at the two drivers ones I get my Nytro ones out before I spend the money on new ones. I might already have what I need.

Well it just hit me as to why the doo drivers would be too big for some people and why the ones I have won't work for me. If they've already been pressed onto a doo shaft they are likely going to be too stretched out to fit the Yamaha shaft. I guess my hunt continues.

Revster, I have Doo drivers on mine. Doo shafts are 1 1/8" hex and Yammie shafts are 1 1/16".
Mine came on a shaft, what I did was press them off. Then put'em in a pot of boiling water for about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes.
The wife loved seeing that one on her stove!!! She always gives me the "look", when I carry sled parts into her kitchen!
Anyway the heat allowed them the swell/relax at the hex, so they would press on the Yamaha shaft.
They have been on there for two seasons now with no issues.
Mine were new drivers though, used drivers may have taken more of a set. So I'm not sure if this trick will work on used drivers

Ha Ha I've heard the dishwasher does a great job of getting the clutches spotless but I've never had the balls to try it. Thanks for the info.

...and thanks for shipping the roll over valves so quick. I got notice the other day that they are waiting at the boarder.

Thanks again.

Well I just got a slap in the face. The upper ball joints are shot so I went online to see what Yamaha wants for them...$125 Cdn each!?! WTF! I think the lower ones might need replaced too I believe they are another $112 ea.

Anyone know of an aftermarket source for these ball joints??

In my opinion, not necessary at all.

You are right about the difference in shaft dimensions. The Yamaha shaft is slightly smaller than the Ski-Doo shaft. But the press fit created by the Ski-Doo extrovert drivers is still much higher than the press fit created by the standard Yamaha drivers. I have used Ski-Doo extrovert drivers for more than 20000 kilometers in three different Yamahas. Never had one of them rotate or even move sideways. I have also pressed couple of sets on for other people including a local snocrosser. Also in these cases, never had one of them rotate or move sideways.

If you start to fiddle with some kind of wrap or shim to go in between, you are just risking positioning, misalignment and concentricity problems.

Yeah I didn't really know for sure if it was totally necessary, but I knew I read that somebody did it, so I figured I'd at least let him know about it, and find the thread so he could read it and decide for himself.
