Machine primary for overdrive...
Anyone done this? Is it worth the hassle or is it a waste of time for more top end?

I did mine late last year. It seem to have more top end but all I did was race up boyne mountain with it. It wasn't topping out like it used to. If u do your primary u might wanna do your secondary too.

I have my clutch disassembled at the moment to fix the rattle issues (putting in some new o-rings)...at the same time I will be machining my primary for OD. I dont like that single sheave idea...i'm not sure how they have designed it, but when I do my overdrive setups I don't only just allow the clutch to close a little tighter, i actually reface the entire angle of both sheaves and change it by a few degrees.
I'm doing the same thing as what we had done to my 700, and it was amazing difference for that sled...seeing as Yamaha clutches haven't changed in over 20 years, I'm confident it will be awesome on the nytro too!

Thanks guys, I'm looking at options.
There were a couple Vectors out there last year that surprised me.

As for the secondary, If you're using the stock helix, get it machined (remove the inside flush to the bushing). If you're running aftermarket helix they are already machined.

Ya I should be in Ontario over X-Mas visiting family. I could easily swing by with some Grogg and and my primary LOL!! :drink:

Haha, well lets see how it works out before I start messing with other peoples! The only thing is I havnt rode the sled stock yet, and I will likely be machining it before I get a chance to ride it..so I wont have much to compare too! Maybe I should wait...
