Hey folks!

The steering on my Apex is hella loose! The bars move a considerable amount before the skiis do. Is that slop normal?

And for this headlight low beam high beam crap, is the best fix to just replace the light assy with an 08 and up headlight assy? I dont really wanna start shimming bulbs n stuff.

Thanks!

No you shouldn't have that much play, follow your steering down and see where it is coming from. Could be ball joints or could be plastic shims. Would guess it will be a little of both. The steering on the 08 I just got was a little sloppier than I liked, so I took the plastic bushings out and milled them down just a little bit and it tightened it right up. That sled had about 8000 miles on it. How many miles does your sled have on it? As for the headlight issue, I can't help on that, never had any problems with any of mine. Good Luck, Dan

IMO even when all snugged up the steering linkage adds up to comparatively loose steering on an Apex. I have Oft Oilite steering blocks. If there are a lot of miles you might change the steering blocks and look for worn ball joints through out the linkage.

As for the lights, upgrade to HID and adjust. On my 06 I did not have HIDs so I just adjusted the beam to be ideal at High. With my 07 Attak my HID low beam setting is ideal and I rarely find any use for the high setting. Maybe if I aimed them a little lower I might get a little more utility out if both Hi and lo.

Thanke for the replies fellas, ill poke around and see whats goin on there.
