Hey guys. I have a 2010 nytro Rtx that I bought new @ the end of the 2011 season. I rode it and put 50o km on it then and changed the oil and filter for break in period. Put it away and last winter was the first full season of riding and put 2500 km on it and changed the oil and filter put it away for the summer. I noticed this black stuff on the oil dip stick after the sled sits and the oil is clean. Just going over my sled again prepping for the up coming season and noticed it again. Is this because the sled is new or is this normal?

Brand new oil in it, but has been in there since the spring. It's not really sludgey or greasey.

It's very marginal, and thin wipes off easy. Put the dip stick back in and clean. But if it sits for a week or two I see this black stuff

Using conventional oil?

Not that it would help you now but after the season you could send in a sample of oil for a UOA and that might tell you what is going on in the motor. I've never seen that before but I don't use yamalube either (not that it's bad I just don't use it). Are you running the full syn oil or blend?

I use yamalube full synthetic, and the top of the sensor looks the same as yours. 4800 miles on the sled, and it still runs great. I don't worry about it.
