I know this has been beaten to death.. I tried looking it up.. I now know that I'm looking for the black & white wires. My tors. system is working fine, but when I first started it it was activated.. Because of low juice in the battery I guess??? Anyway I would like to know where the connectors are located so if it dooes it on a ride I can bypass it.. I can't see anything under the hood.. I took off the handlebar pad and found 700 wires. Hmmmmmm.. Please advise..MM. :ORC ;)! It's a 05 vector.

They are located near the carbs...look for the sensor below the throttle cable cam on the cars and follow the wires from the sensor until you see the conections. They're usually near the deltabox rail on the oil tank side of the sled...Make sure you have proper cable freeplay before you go disconnecting stuff.

The wires must be under the handlebar pad on the rs models......... By the way my tors is working great now... But I would like to find the connectors so I can bypass them if I was on a trail ride... Thanks..MM.

The TORS works with two switchs one on the throttle lever and one on the carbs. They both use a black with a white stripe wire. When you move the throttle a little bit the switch on the lever closes completing the circut when you get on the throttle the carbs open and the contacts on the switch open. The CDI needs to see at least one of these switchs closed to work properly. If for example the switch on the carbs is out of adjust the TORS will activate and the engine will miss. The white knob on the carbs where the throttle cable is adjusts this switch. You want this switch closed when the throttle is at rest.

The reason there is a TORS is so that in the event the throttle slides stick open when you let off the throttle lever the engine will shut down or miss so that it dosent take off like a unguided rocket.

Bypassing is never a good idea. Adjustment is simple and a much safer.
