Real close but the Thundercat edged the SRX. No other sleds were even close to the Yamacats.

No surprises here between the T-Cat and SRX.
T-Cat:
-1" track
-lower gearing
-Team compression spring secondary
All this equates to better 660' drag racer
IMO
Now if we were running Radar runs or 1250'+++ the SRX would shine.
SRX:
-1" track
-higher gearing
-Yamaha torsion spring secondary
In the past I have run Team compression spring secondaries on all my sleds in drag racing, radar runs, and trail riding, from 700 SRXs, Vmax4s, Apexs, and SC Apex and have found them to be excellent drag race and trail clutches but a little slower on all out top end on radar runs.

I wasn't aware that they were still having the shootout this year. Who was the sponsor now that Amsnow is done?

In any case, it's clear YAMAHA power is far and away the winner!!

I'm no master mechanic but isn't the gearing on a T-Cat MUCH more conducive to a drag than the Winder gearing? More so than even the results indicate? Average speeds of the 2 runs between the sleds were basically a toss-up. How many riders?

I often hear 'talk' that 800's and/or 850's will spank the Turbos in short distances stock to stock.
Obviously false. The fastest 850 didn't even beat the slower SRX(compared to T-cat) in any distance at all.

I stand corrected...I wasn't aware they went to a 1" on the Tcat….they should have left the 1 1/4" on...IMO

They are going back to the 1.25" on the TCat for 2021 again. IMO a 1" track on these sleds is worthless as well. We've tried them for better speed, and although you'll get that for top MPH, they suck in the snow for actual trail use. One week with the 1" you'll want the 1.25" back on it.

IMO, as Ed McMann would say - you are correct sir! Putting that 1" track on TCat they were just trying to get it to run with the Winder on the top!I stand corrected...I wasn't aware they went to a 1" on the Tcat….they should have left the 1 1/4" on...IMO
