I have a white gloss windshield that has started flaking on the inside, due to taking some ice chunk hits on the outside.
I attempted to paint it with gloss white, plastic spray paint. It made a mess, curling up, and orange peeling. It lasted a couple hours before flaking.
Can anyone offer advise in repainting this windsheild successfully ?

The flaking or peeling is a result of the two paints not being compatible. Remove all the existing paint, clean it up real good before applying the new paint.
