I'm planning on riding out of Camden this weekend. Does anyone know where the best place to park would be? The club's website doesn't give much info on how close the trail is to the areas they have listed.

There's currently a heavy lake snow warning from utica to watertown. Calling for 1-2 feet in the persistant bands. 8) woo hoo.

Always part at the American Legion. Turn right at the third traffic light (I think its the third) if your coming in from south. Its about a mile out of town...sits on top of a hill. They have large parking area and welcome snowmobilers. Have fun

Second traffic light take a right (RT 69 east). after you go over the bridge leaving the village it's your second left (first left after wolcott hill rd). The legion will be up half a mile on your right.

Thanks. I'll be out there on the warrior, with a viper, 800XC poo, and possibly 600SX. Stop and say hi if anyone sees us.

Bender Exhaust Clips

Yamahnator- Tx for the clips, I finally was able to get them up. Wish I knew enought about them to be able to post them. You were right, the sound is very close to a Vance and Hines Street Bike. Nice idle like the Gps, but not objectionable on acceleration like the Gps. It's a little louder than the QC1, but much nicer sounding to me.Not as crackly sounding. I am going to order one up. Tx for the help. Maybe someone on the site can get them from you and post them as I think this is the best sounding exhaust I have heard so far.

Monker...you might already have been here, but try unloading at the bowling alley in Barnveld, at the bottom of the Penn Mtn. trail system..it'll cut 30-40 minutes driving time, and you ride toward Lee, Taberg, after Westernville, and then Camden...and then head north toward Florence, Redfield....the hill, Lake Ontario, etc. Or south after Camden into Rome, and down towards Oneida Lake and points west...
I could be a tour guide up there...hehehe. Also, if you cross south of 20, then the Lafayette system and down to Norwich.
But Barnveld is an hour 10 minutes from here, and we're unloading..quick easy drive, and great trails in that area. And you can head east toward Ohio, Salisbury...it's a good starting point for out bigger rides.
Also, before you turn to the Legion, there was a bar with a big parking lot..we parked there once too. Thought it was called Grog or something, but this is going back a few years, and it's getting dusty inside my head. :D

Its called the Grape N' Grog. Camden, Lee and Rome trails are really the best in the area according to many people. But who knows theres a lot of stuff I haven't been on.

I'm glad you liked the clips Longshot. I really like the pipe. The people I ride with get big smiles one their faces when I start it up =). It sounds mean without being obnoxious. One thing about installing it though. Bender will tell you it only takes half an hour... Which is total BS. May have to heat it up to get it on. I had to take mine into the shop, I couldn't get it as much as I hate to admit that :( . I didn't have the proper stuff to work on it.

I was considering Barneveld or Camden. It seems like more people ride out of Barneveld and head up to the hill. I was considering riding more towards Kasoag and Williamstown. All areas I've driven through, but never ridden.

Barnveld gets lots more miles on, and they are good miles...some huge fields. Just go straight where the trail splits and heads west or north toward Alder Creek. Then the next main decision is at the split in the woods, where taking a right goes to West Leyden. Straight goes toward Lee, etc. I think there is good signage at most trail splits. I haven't run any over this year....yet... :D
Actually, now that I think about it, there is a split and the trail heads south to Rome and West Rome, then Camden..very nice ride. I think it is before you get to Westernville. It is well marked.

Monker, I live on the Penn Mt. trail about half way between Barneveld and Camden, in the Westernville area. There is a new map out this year for Oneida county. You should be able to buy it at any snowmobile dealer in Oneida county. It is a very detailed map and has the trails well depicted and accurate. In Camen you should be able to pick one up at Camden Auto (thay sell Polaris) in the center of town on Rt. 13 heading south out of Camden. If unloding in Barneveld and coming North on Rt 12 Sports unlimited just North of the Riverside mall should have one. In Barneveld Hudsons sled salvage, just north of the bowling alley should also have the maps. Best trails in the area are groomed by TC trail riders, between Camden, Point Rock, Osceola, and Florance. Have a safe trip.

How does this happen???

About 10" of fresh snow, a dozen people recomend where to park, AND WE'RE THE ONLY ONES THERE ALL DAY???? The lot was never plowed so we had some fun trying to get out, had to pack down some areas with he sleds. TC riders definately had the best trails. First corner we came around we say the groomer. I think this is the first time I can ever say I saw more yammis on the trail than anything else. Rode from Camden to Florence to Redfield, over to Pulaski, back to Kasoag for lunch then back to Camden. Beautiful weather and great trails.
