Last weekend I was up at the camp and there was a a pile of guys doing radar runs, watercross, drags, etc.

There were over 50 of us racing from the top end of the lake (lake is 40 miles long) and while passing some 600 revs, and 600 Gades, 700 Switchback, 4 lugs came flying off my track and I had to shut her down. The lake was beautiful, crystal slush, lots of lube, mild temps.

My question is....can I still drive with this track? The lugs peeled off down to the bone where the rubber "mesh" is exposed. The "ribs" or whatever those things that go across the track are not exposed, but still covered with rubber. I don't want to blow a track at WOT on the lake, but I don't want to spend almost a grand on a track either if I can get away with this one the way it is.

I was impressed with the speed of the sled (170 speedo) with a 2 inch track. My revs were almost 11,000 (snow conditions it revs 10,2)

I will get pics on Monday...

LazyB, I wouldn't go with anything less than a two inch lug in northern Ontario for what I like to do. My MM700 at work has 12,000kms on the two inch lug, no probs and that is riding on everything. I changed the sliders at 10k and they didn't need to be changed.

I don't ride groomed trails, just play in the powder, hydrolines, break trail, lakes etc. I had a 1.25 lug on it and took it off, the 2" is much better, way more fun. I use my SRX for non powder stuff and when I want to go fast.

Warden, #*$&@ happens as you know. Just another $1000 bucks on top of the other thousands...what's the big deal????

My Camoplast did that 2 weeks ago and also started to peel the belting back. Usually it is a result of de-lamination of the layers of the track. This can be caused by a defect in the track or over-heating the track without sufficient cooling.

Just got back from a trip up in the Grosemorne Park area perfect weather and snow conditions , go anywhere lots of hills to climb and wide open runs.Had my track do the same thing but worst all the lugs on the rightside came off on a 170 + run down the pond ,whats up? :?:
