i have a 01 mm 700 fairly stock for most part. llive in east all riding done in western maine. like the idea of the phazer perfect track for around here, dont need too much power, but is 80 enough? i weight about 200lbs. Really like the sled just dont know if enough power without expensive turbo.opinions needed.

I had a 02 mm 700 before i bought my mtn lite. I miss the power sometimes. but I wouldnt go back in a minute. I absolutly love this sled. Just give it time and you will too. by the way I'm pushing 220

my lil'sister got a 700Mountain max -01, ive been taking it for a ride sometimes, it runs nice, and has pretty sure lots of more power than phazer, but it aint fair to compare them both, MM is so much older and not half a nice to drive, phazer is light and easy handling, them both has not so suspension STOCK.
try the Phazer and you will buy it for sure!

i think i would like it the mm doesnt have much more hp 115 ish. compared to a broader 80, if its not enough i could always go with nos or turbo.

IMO it depends on what you want to do. If you want to be the fastest across the lake or down a smooth trail the Phazer isn't going to do it. But for a sled with a great ride and handling, along with reliability, I don't think you could do much better, especially for the price.
I rode a piped '01 MM 700, a buddies Phazer Mtn wouldn't run with it in a straight line. But the Phazer was great on the trail, especially over the rough stuff. It felt very light and easy to handle, just a lot of fun to play with. I'd have been happy to trade.
I think it would be very good off trail in heavier Eastern snow as well. If the MMs 141 worked well for you I think the Phazer would be great as far as track size. My buddies didn't do well in powder and mountains around here, short on track and power. Not sure if the power would be an issue in your kind of snow, if your riding is mostly poking through the trees and exploring I'm thinking it wouldn't be a problem.
Try to spend some time on one before you buy...if you like it but really need more power there's alway the Nitro...

thanx for the advice i really love this sled and think it would suit me just fine . the mountain max i have now was bought to be my wifes sled, she got pregnant and didnt ride enough to keep both sleds so i ended up selling my rx1 after riding the mm. fell i love with the long tracks.love the 4 strokes but the tracks are getting too long on the mountain sleds for the eastern riders. 141 or 144 is perfect. plus the phazer has the best exhaust note in the business.

I had a 01 MM700 also. I'll take the Phazer MTX. Alot more fun and easier to ride.

wwith 2 inch track and 80 hp it is not going to be a high milage highspeed trail sleed but for the off trail it would be just the ticket.
good luck
