Looking to see if anyone has run pilot 6.9s. I am running 5.7 and will need to replace them next season. I love the control on hard pack trails but not in loose or off trail. I don't want to loose any on trail performance but would like some better lose/off trail performance. Pilots are inexpensive and carbides are readily available.
As always I welcome all comments and suggestions.

The 6.9s will push in the loose snow but are better off trail

I changed from 5.7 to 6.9 pilots a couple of seasons ago. I did not notice any difference on trail but float better off trail. Cost effective and easy to find carbides sold me also.
the 5.7s push in the loose snow now so any off trail improvement would be welcome. Thank you for the replys.

If you got the cash to spend on new skis, I say forget the 6.9s and try something else. I tried them on my Nytro and wasn't impressed with their turning ability nor flotation in deep snow... packed trails, only so so handling.
Go with C&As, or Slydogs...all are better in deep snow and packed trails than the Pilots...I've tested. I hear Simmons, Triple Threats, Powderpros, and Curves handle better too.
I'm trying out Triple Threats this year.
