1. I'm putting pilot ski's on my apex. I ordered the part #'s I found on here for the ski's, rubber blocks and loops. I read the rubber block is inserted with the high side to the rear. There is a small raised line where the block sits, but no notch in the block for it. I read there was supposed to be. Anyone else find this? I guess I'll just remove the raised portion rather than harm the integrity of the block by notching it.
2. The mounting holes in the loops are one size bigger than the holes in the ski. Is this right? The loops also seem like they are made out of a very cheap plastic that is different than the ski. Almost seems like I got some cheap chinese knockoffs unless that is how the OEM loops are. I was going to bolt them on to save the $$ for the overpriced rivets, but I'd have to drill the holes in the skis bigger to accommodate a bolt that fits the loops. If I use a bolt the dia. of the ski hole, the loop flops and is loose.
Anyone have some insight on either issue?

I have pilot 6.9s on my apex. I used older style Yamaha ski loops, and rubbers for a Doo mxz (like 2006). I used t-nuts and bolts on the loops. I used apex style loops. A little trimming and they fit nice.

Did your ski's have the raised nub where the rubber bock sits?

Yes, but the rubbers i used had a recess in the bottom that the nub sat in. I wouldnt have any problem knocking that platic tit off there tho. Looking at your pic reminded me that i had to flip one of those steel bushings in the ski also

Cut your Apex ski loops down and use those with the Pilots. Easy to do. You cut like an 1/8" off on each side of the rear loop mount and like 1/16" off each side of the front mount with a hack saw. You can even use your Yamaha bolts to mount them to the Pilots. I did this on my Nytro and loved saving the money from not having to buy Ski Doo ski loops. G.B.
