Pilot skis Help!!!

I've lost all confidence in the stock skis that came with my 06 attak. I'm thinking of going to the ski-doo pilot 6.9 pilots as I do about 40% off trail. The wider ski will help me get on top of the snow in the deep, and as I understand they will get rid of most all of my darting. My problem is the rubber blocks. Do I have to modify them to fit my spindle cradle? Just looking at them they look way to wide. They must have to be cut down in some way. What do you use to cut them? Can I use the stock bolts and do I have to shim the spindle any? I know I have a lot of questions but I need to get this right as I have money enough for just one try at fixing the sleds ski problems in the deep snow. I don't want to use the yamaha mountian skis as I don't want to have to fix the darting too. Thanks in advance all. vmaxcrazy

I didnt modify my doo rubber stopper for my 5.7 pilots and actually this is mainly why they are dart resistant. They give a pressure bias to the back of the ski.

Will they fit inside the spindle cup? They look too wide.

They are the right width but the rear top of the stopper (IMO) is too high and pushes the ski down like shimming would. I trimmed about 1/8" of both of the stoppers to make the ski a little more level. With the sled off the ground my skis are still pushed down in the back but not a drastically as they were before trimming.

What is the correct year of the 6.9 pilots? I went to a ski-doo dealer and got all confused, as different year skis have different profiles. I'm not sure if the ski stoppers #506151233 are used on what year skis. I'm not familar at all with ski-doo parts.(never had a need to be) untill now. I just need part #'s of the correct Black 6.9 pilots and ski stoppers. Sorry to be a pain and ask someone else to do the searching, but the ski-doo dealer (also a Yamaha dealer) is not a lot of help with this. He say's to go with the C&a razers $450. That not going to work on my limited income.

Thanks Tork, That's just what I needed. Dealer said he wasn't sure they would fit and was trying to point me in another direcrtion(more expensive) Thanks again heading out to order skis and stoppers now.
