Hi,

Has anyone put Ski Doo 5.7 Pilot Skis on thier RX-1? And if so, do you run two carbides per ski? Any if so, what carbides are you running.

I am trying to cut down on darting with my 2005 RX-1.

Thank you for any help that you can give me.

:yam:

I have 2 Rx1's with them sinse the year they came out. I think 5 or 6 seasons. THey work great...no darting, lighter steering, better turning. Allong with the skis, both sleds have straight rate springs, MP! wide A-Arms, and the Pioneer stabolizer bar.

The sleds also have Apex seats and articulating handlebar posts shifted forward. THese are poor mans Apex upgraded sleds. We have been very happy with the set up. We have been able to kick some REV a$$ in the twisties!!!

To another point in an earlier post, the Doo ski rubbers make a big difference. You can achieve that difference by placing a 1/4 - 3/8 piece of rubber under the back side of your Yami ski rubbers. This is HUGE. It will make a big difference with the stock ski, but not as good as the Pilots. I have this on my wifes Phazer allong with dullie scags. Did it to my dad's vector as well.

If you are going to get pilots step up to the 6.9's for better flotation.

I put a set of Pilot 5.7's on my Rage last season. They really lightened the steering effort and I am really happy with them. I am running 6" carbide down the center and 4" on the outside. I have 108 pics in my 136" track and it all handles great. G.B.
